Writing in My Free Time

Me That's a picture of me. When I am writing full-swing, that is usually the face that I'm wearing. I like to think of it as a fusion of concentration and sort of a Zen-like meditation. Most of the time, though, I'm just thought-blocked and trying to think of the next set of words that I'm going to put down.

Pencils I started writing because I read a lot of books. No surprise there, really. I loved that when I read, I get transported to a different place and a different time. In a book I read, someone said that a person who reads lives many lives, and a person who does not read lives only one. I love to read, but I wanted to do more. I wanted to tell my own stories, live my own lives. So, when I was in elementary school, I started. My stories back then were, for the most part, complete crap. But, as I learned, you can only get better at writing by doing. I like to think that all of that trash I came up with when I was eight got most of it out of my system, but I think that's wishful thinking. Still, I'm working at my craft now and hopefully am getting better.
