My Favorite Books

I haven't actually read a book in years. My choices are a little dated, but these are books I still own and remember.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is my favorite book of all-time. I can't even count how many times I've read it or seen the film. I read it for the first time in 5th grade and it has been my favorite since. The story had murder, gang fights, and running away; everything to keep an adolescent male's attention. S.E. Hinton has also written other books that I have also read.

Halo: The Flood is a novel based off the video game Halo: Combat Evolved, written by William C. Dietz. It is part of a series that includes a prequel and a third novel. I read this book for the first time in junior high. It is the only complete series that I own. I remember buying all the newest books as soon as they were availible for purchase. So far it is the only book that I have ever preordered. It is a great science fiction novel following the protagonist, Master Chief, as he explores uncharted worlds and uncovers ancient technology that could threaten all life in the galaxy.

My list wouldn't be complete without J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. I would always try to read the books before I saw the films. I read the first three in the series, but once they exceeded 400 pages I stopped. This book is on my list because it introduced me into not only the series, but also the genre of fantasy.
