To get started on the Path to Promise by enrolling at OHIO, it is essential that you activate your OHIO ID.

Many Ohio University online services require you to log in using this special ID code. Your birth date and your personal identification (PID) number (provided in your application acknowledgement letter) are all you need to officially activate your online OHIO access. Once you activate your account, you will have immediate access to important information and electronic resources and services, including the online housing contract.

You can begin using CatMail, your free Ohio University e-mail account, once you activate your OHIO ID. Make sure you check your OHIO e-mail regularly. All official correspondence will be sent to your Ohio University e-mail account.

Please note: At the end of the activation process, you will be provided with a temporary (but different) password to access your CatMail e-mail account. We encourage you to access CatMail and change the temporary password.

Effective May 18, 2013: Your CatMail password will automatically by synced to your OHIO ID password. You are strongly encouraged to update your CatMail password to your OHIO ID password prior to May 18, 2013. For additional details to the CatMail update, please click here.
