ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, in observance of the national Thanksgiving Day holiday. Although Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 27, the university operates under a floating holiday schedule and will remain closed Friday, Nov. 28, as an observance of Columbus Day.
The closure includes all five regional campuses and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The university will reopen Monday, Dec. 1, operating under normally scheduled hours. Also, please note that Alden Library will be closed the entire holiday weekend and will reopen Monday, Dec. 1.
Those of you who will spend the long weekend in the Athens area may wish to watch the Fun Stuff page for information about area attractions and events. In addition, the Kennedy Museum of Art will be open Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. featuring the exhibit "Appalachians: A Contemporary Cultural Perspective" through Dec. 23, and ongoing exhibits "The Night Sky" and "The Stories We Tell." The museum has more information available.
