Internationally recognized "new technology" artist Jim Campbell to visit campus Jan 12-13
Acclaimed artist Jim Campbell is known for his creative use of high tech electronics. Campbell's work combines art and technology with his highly creative collaborations. He is an artist who crosses disciplinary boundaries - he holds degrees in both electrical engineering and mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - and will be visiting campus on Jan. 12-13. His visit is sponsored by the photography area in the School of Art, College of Fine Arts.
In conjunction with the College of Fine Arts' "Creativity Through Technology Initiative," faculty members from across the University attended a discussion led by Campbell to discuss the benefits of cross-disciplinary collaboration between the fine arts and the sciences, thus providing a catalyst for continued cross-disciplinary research at Ohio University Jan. 12.
Campbell will also give a public presentation of his work on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. at Mitchell Auditorium, Seigfred Hall. The presentation is free and open to all.
