STRATTON, associate professor from Virginia Commonwealth University, wrote "Parental Child Care in Single-Parent, Cohabiting, and Married-Couple Families: Time Diary Evidence from the United Kingdom" in the American Economic Review Papers and Proceedings in May 2005. WOJCIECH JADWISIENCZAK, assistant professor of electrical engineering and computer science, and HENRY K. LOZYKOWSKI, professor, wrote and presented the paper "Excitation Mechanism of Rare Earth Isovalent Traps in AlN" at the PACIFICHEM'05 International Chemical Congress, for the American Chemical Society in Honolulu, Hawaii, in December 2005. WOJCIECH JADWISIENCZAK, assistant professor of the school of EECS, HENRY K. LOZYKOWSKI, professor, Abdelhak Bensaoula, professor at the University of Houston, and Otton Monteiro, professor at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, co-wrote a paper entitled "Luminescnec and excitation mechanism of Pr, Eu, Tb and Tm ions implanted into AlN" for Microelectronics Journal, Vol. 36, spring 2005. L. MILLESEN, assistant professor of political science, will be featured in Nonprofit Quarterly's "Best of" issue, for her article "Who 'owns' your nonprofit?" Vol. 9; Issue 3, fall 2002
Presentations LENA WRIGHT MYERS, professor of sociology, gave the keynote address: "All Bigots Don't Wear White: Sociological Reflections on DIFFERENCES in America"at the Mid-South Sociological Association Meetings in Atlanta, Ga., October 2005. The Theme of the 31st Annual Conference was:UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The Quest for Inclusion. DAVID C. RUSSELL, instructor in the school of theater, was a costume designer for the production of "Julius Caesar" performed by The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey. The play was part of a professional research activity in October 2005. The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey is one of the leading professional Shakespeare theaters in the nation. ASHISH KUMAR SRIVASTAVA, graduate student in mathematics, attended Ph.D. School and Workshop on "Noncommutative Geometry" at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, in November 2005. CHARLENE M. KALENKOSKI, assistant professor of economics, and David C. Ribar, professor at George Washington University, attended the presentation "Women's and Men's Work Commitments to Scientific Careers" in Washington, D.C., in November 2005. David C. Ribar was a presenter from the Southern Economic Association. KITTY CONSOLO, assistant professor of health and human services at Ohio University-Zanesville, presented at the 76th Annual Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference held in Columbus, Ohio. Consolo presented a session entitled, "Eating Well: Organizing your own Farm-to-School Program." In addition, Consolo presented with Laura Main, member of the National Iron Disorders Board, "Living Well with Hemocromatosis."
Recognitions GILLES CLEMENT, visiting professor of chemical engineering, was the winner of the IAA (International Academy of Astronautics) L. Napolitano book award in 2005 for his book "Fundamentals of Space Medicine" published by Springer Publications in the city of Dordrecht. The award was presented in Paris, France. LISA S. DAEL, program coordinator for Community and Professional Programs, became a CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) professional, after passing the CIW Site Designer Exam on Sept. 26 by Prosoft Learning Corporation.
