Recognitions RICHARD C MCGINN, linguistics, has been awarded a Fulbright Research Grant to spend five months in Indonesia from August to December 2004 to conduct linguistic research. The project is titled "Handbook of Materials for the Study of the Rejang Language of Sumatra, and will eventually be published in two monographs and a set of archival materials. SRDJAN NESIC, chemical engineering, was appointed to the Corrosion Journal Editorial Board in January 2004. Given the highest ranking of this journal in the corrosion field and a high general impact factor (1.22), this is a great personal achievement for NESIC as well as an important milestone for the Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technology. | Candy Dishong |
CANDY DISHONG, physics and astronomy, received the Ohio University Classified Senate Employee of the Month award for November 2003. She was nominated by Heather Krugman, administrator for the department of physics and astronomy, for her excellent attitude towards her work, as well as to the faculty and staff. ZAKES MDA, English, has been placed on the International Impac Dublin literary award "long list" for his novel "The Madona of Excelsior." The Impac is one of the world's richest prizes and is remarkable for its breadth of coverage and truly global nature. TODD MYERS, industrial technology, was inducted into Epsilon Pi Tau by the International Honorary Epsilon Pi Tau in Nashville, Tenn., in November 2003.
