Oxbow Drive closing
Oxbow Drive will be closed to through traffic starting Friday, April 23, 2004, and remain closed until October of 2006. There will be a fence along the Oxbow Drive and the sidewalk providing a separation for pedestrians along Oxbow.
This means that people will be able to walk from Parking lot 120 (Bird, Grover and Porter) under the Richland Avenue bridge to Treudley Hall, Sargent Hall, Boyd Hall, Stocker Center and the Life Science Facility, etc. Access to the parking garages beneath the West Green residence halls will remain open but traffic will have to go by Stocker Hall. The contractors are aware that they will have to open the road for emergency vehicles.
The contractor will open the gates at each end of the construction site during move-in and move-out to facilitate the movement of parents and students and their vehicles. We will also try to accommodate football weekends, Homecoming and special events. If there are other dates of concern, please e-mail the information. Thank you for your patience during the construction of the new University Center. For more information, contact Richard Shultz at 593-2727 or shultz@ohio.edu.
