ZANESVILLE, Ohio (Feb. 25, 2004) -- Several community agencies are teaming up with Ohio University Zanesville Campus for the annual Health Fair on campus. A free shoulder massage ought to provide incentive for attending, regardless of one's attitude about health and fitness. Free healthy snacks will also be provided.
The annual Health Fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, in the conference rooms of the Campus Center.
Both The Fieldhouse and Genesis Health and Fitness will conduct body fat screenings while providing fitness information and an overview of their programs. Welsh Massotherapy will provide the free 10 minute shoulder massages.
Northside Pharmacy will provide skin damage assessments and bone density screenings for a $7 fee each. Free blood pressure screenings, pulsometry, TB tests and information on respiratory health and tobacco cessation will be available courtesy of the Rambo Health Clinic. Blood glucose screenings will also be available for a $3 fee, although a two-hour fast is required.
The American Cancer Society will provide information on Prostate and Testicular Cancer screening for men and Genesis Healthsource will have a dietician available to answer nutrition questions with special emphasis on Diabetes.
The event is sponsored by several programs on campus including the Wellness Program, the Women's Health Class and the Nursing Women's Health classes. University students will display information on breast cancer screening, osteoporosis, natural family planning, domestic violence, birth control, alcohol and tobacco use and more.
