LANCASTER, Ohio -- Gary Lockwood, assistant professor of Engineering Technology and division coordinator of the University Division at Ohio University Lancaster Campus, has been named interim associate dean. According to Interim Dean John Furlow, Jr., Lockwood's full-time duties began Oct. 1 and will continue until a permanent campus dean is in place.
"Gary is an experienced faculty leader with knowledge of course scheduling and staffing. He is well known in the community and can help us with our fundraising campaign and our building projects, and the introduction of new software in support of our academic programs. He will be a pleasure to work with as we move the campus forward," Furlow said.
In addition to teaching at the local campus for more than 20 years, Lockwood served as city engineer and founded Lockwood and Associates, Inc., a local engineering firm.
He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in civil engineering at Ohio University and Ohio State University. Lockwood also is a professional engineer and surveyor, and is a member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He also is active in Lancaster Kiwanis.
Lockwood and his wife, Ruthie, are the parents of Jennie, Jackie and Julie, and reside in Lancaster.
