Shannon Williams' texture photography exhibit on display at Donkey Coffee and Espresso
Shannon Williams' photography exhibit, "Beyond First Glance," will be on at Donkey Coffee and Espresso now through March 28.
In "Beyond First Glance," photos of varied form, size, color, texture and light are brought together to challenge the viewer to look at the world around them in new ways. Utilizing a zoom macro lens, the brittleness of a churning ocean is revealed while a wide-angle lens makes a four-inch gravel pattern rival a mountain. The exhibit features pictures taken in rural Maine, Appalachian Ohio, urban Pittsburgh and rustic Georgia.
"Beyond First Glance" features the work of local artist Shannon Williams. Williams, who graduated last year from Ohio University with a B.S. in Visual Communication, is a graphic designer at the Ohio University Press. Beyond First Glance also features additional photography by award-winning local filmmaker Justin Choma Zimmerman. Zimmerman, currently an Assistant Professor at Denison University, also graduated from Ohio University with a M.F.A. in Film.
Previously, the show was at The Starving Wolf and Yellow Moon Cafe, The Plains. Also, selected work can been seen at The Connecting Point, West Union Street, Athens.
