"The Evolution of Language: A Comparative Approach"

ATHENS, Ohio (Jan. 7, 2004) -- William Tecumseh Fitch from the school of psychology at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, will present "The Evolution of Spoken Language: A Comparative Approach" at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the new Lecture Hall Facility, Room 145.

Fitch is a Kennedy Visitor, and the presentation is sponsored by the Ohio University Kennedy Lecture Series and the Institute for the Empirical Study of Language. Expect a vivid audiovisual presentation on the evolution of the vocal organs from earlier species into the speech organs of the human species.
