  • Ohio University President Roderick J. McDavis gave an overview of impressive accomplishments -- including two substantial private gifts -- and highlighted where the university is headed during his State of the University Address this afternoon.

  • The Ohio University Foundation recently received $5 million from Beth Stocker's estate. The culmination of more than 50 years of philanthropy, the gift brings total giving from Beth Stocker and her husband, the late C. Paul Stocker, to $31.9 million.

The "Three Girls" are Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin and Patty Griffin, who will be joined by noted Nashville-based guitarist Buddy Miller.

  • Ohio University will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of the national Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. The closure includes all five regional campuses and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

  • Ohio University's Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps had the second-highest number of cadet awards among 144 detachments at a recent commanders' conference in Atlanta, with three cadets receiving individual recognition.

  • Ohio Athletics has announced a major new fund-raising initiative, the Ohio Athletics Operational Endowment Campaign. With a $2.5 million goal, the initiative will build a foundation of endowment support that is more than 1,856 times the current level. In support of this campaign, Ohio Athletics already has raised $1.4 million.
