17th Annual 'Run on The Ridges' 5K is Nov. 7
The 17th annual 'Run on The Ridges' will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7. Racers will meet at Southside Park on Richland Ave. adjacent to the Ohio University Inn.
The marathon is a 5K run organized and presented by the Ohio University School of Physical Therapy to benefit the Joy Boyd Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship, in memory of Joy Boyd ('88), is given each year to a graduate student in the School of Physical Therapy who exemplifies Boyd's compassion for others, high ideals and dedication to the field of physical therapy.
The run covers a moderate 5K route coursing over the hills and cross country terrain of The Ridges. Entry fee is $12 for advance registration postmarked by Nov. 2, and $15 on-site registration on the day of the race. T-shirts are guaranteed to all preregistered participants. Awards will be given for first-, second- and third-place male and female runners.
