    Faculty seminars/workshops announced

The Center for Innovations in Technology for Learning (CITL) has posted its fall quarter faculty seminars. These seminars are designed to address beginning and intermediate interest in the use of technology for teaching and learning. Faculty who attend five or more seminars over the 2002-03 academic year may receive up to a $250 credit for use toward a digital camera, scanner, or digital media storage device. Winter and spring schedules will be posted in the near future. For more information, visit www.citl.ohiou.edu or call (740) 597-2702.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has also announced two research orientation sessions for new faculty and administrators to be held in early October. The workshop is designed to help familiarize faculty, administrators, and clerical staff with the resources available from the divisions of the Vice President for Research and Vice President for Finance. It also provides an overview of the procedures involved in submitting grant applications, accepting awards, managing award funds and completing projects.

The sessions (identical sessions of the same workshop) will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, and from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and will be held at 100 Konneker Research Laboratories (The Ridges). Registration deadline is Sept. 30 or until full. To register, contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at (740) 593-0374 or by e-mail at orsp@ohio.edu

"How to Complete an IRB Form" will be held Oct. 3 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This workshop helps familiarize project directors/principal investigators with how to complete a Project Outline Form for the Institutional Review Board (IRB). "How to Complete an IACUC Form" will be held Oct. 24, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This workshop will teach project directors/principal investigators how to complete an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Form.
