The first American Cancer Society Golf Tournament in Athens County, originally scheduled for Aug. 2, will take place on Saturday, Aug. 23. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided with a recognition ceremony following.
This charity golf event allows golfers the opportunity to compete at a state and national level. The Athens County Tournament will take place at the Ohio University Golf and Tennis Center. Winners of each flight have the opportunity to advance to the state and national championship tournaments scheduled to take place at Firestone in Akron and the Palm Beach Club in Palm Beach, Fla.
