Here's a look at recent accomplishments of Ohio University faculty and staff.
- Recognitions
- "New Visions," the 2002 annual report on external funding from the Vice President of Research, has received a Bronze Medal for overall excellence in the League of American Communications Professionals Annual Report Competition. The report, which was selected from a pool of more than 600 entries, was written and edited by KELLI WHITLOCK, director of research communications.
- ANDREA GIBSON, research communications, has received a Clarion Award in the Association for Women in Communications' national awards competition. Gibson received the honor in the feature article category for magazines with a circulation of 100,000 and under. Her entry, "Troubled Waters," was published in the Spring/Summer 2001 issue of Perspectives, the University's biannual magazine of research and creative activity.

- DAVID DRABOLD, physics and astronomy, and Kuiying Chen of the National Research Council of Canada, co-authored "First principles molecular dynamics study of amorphouse AlGanN alloys" in the Journal of Applied Physics, Vol. 91, June 2002.

- TERRY CONRY, facilities management, presented " Does Mutual Gains Bargaining Affect Negotiator's Power? Practitioners? Perceptions of the Affect of Mutual Gains Bargaining on Their Power in Labor/Management" with CLAUDIA HALE at the International Association for Conflict Management.
- DAVID DRABOLD, physics and astronomy, presented "Simulations of Arsenic-Selenide Glasses" at the Centre European de Calcul Atomique et Moleculaire.
- HENRYK J. LOZYKOWSKI and WOJCIECH M. JADWISIENCZAK, electrical engineering and computer science, co-authored and presented "Optical Properties of Yb Ions in GaN Epilayers" at the 8th International Conference on Electronic Materials, which is organized by the International Union of Materials Research Society and Chinese Materials Research Society.
