Community and Professional Programs at Ohio University is sponsoring a series of funding workshops during the Summer. "Fundraising for Nonprofit Organizations" will take place on July 20 and "Grants and How to Get Them" on August 24 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Grover Center.
The fundraising course will provide a practical introduction to raising money from public and private sources to support nonprofit organizations, using a variety of proven techniques and processes. Richard Morgan, who has been executive director of national and international nonprofit organizations and agencies, will be the instructor.
"There are so many people and organizations who would like to apply for grants or need to set up a fundraising campaign of some sort, but don't know how to get started. We hope to demystify the processes in these workshops," said Lisa Dael, program coordinator for Community and Professional Programs.
The cost is $75 per workshop or $135 for both which includes lunch, materials, instruction and a CEU certificate suitable for framing. University personnel as well as the public are encouraged to attend.
