ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University's College of Communication will hold its annual Communication Career Connection (CCC), a career fair designed for students to interact with communication employers for both internships and entry-level employers, from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in the Baker University Center Ballroom.
Students will be able to network with various companies and organizations, such as The Plain Dealer, the Washington Center for Internships, the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, Procter & Gamble Productions, Interactive Ink, Rocky Shoes & Boots, F&W Publications and WJET/WFXP of Erie, Pa. More than 30 employers from different geographical regions and aspects of communications are expected to attend this year's Communication Career Connection.
"We are so pleased to offer this unique opportunity to our communication students," said Holly Jacobs, internship coordinator for the College of Communication. "In the current business climate, students know that they must take advantage of every opportunity to connect with potential employers."
A student conference will also be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12 in the Baker Center Ballroom. The conference will have two discussion panels. "Ask the Experts: How to Get an Internship and What to Learn on The Job" will detail what underclassmen can do to gain experience in their profession. "The Great Transition: From College to Career" and will detail topics such as: what upperclassmen need to know about salary negotiations, life after college and the current job-hunting climate. Several Ohio University alumni and industry leaders will be present to offer helpful information and critique resumes afterward.
