The Athens Community Music School will be accepting summer session registrations June 9-26. Fees for private lessons vary. Students can register for 5 weeks or 10 weeks beginning June 23. Instruments offered are flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, percussion, voice, piano and violin.
The registration deadline for Children's Chorus Summer Camp is July 15. No auditions are necessary to join the choir, directed by Melanie Horne. The camp is open to boys with unchanged voices and girls entering grades 3-9 in fall 2003. Sessions will be held July 21-25 and Aug. 18-22. Grades 3-5 will meet 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. and grades 6-9 will meet 10:30 a.m. until noon. The goal is to have fun making music and learning about singing.
