Ohio University's Office of Research Communications has received two national awards in the annual Circle of Excellence Awards contest sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, an international education association that serves professionals in communications, alumni relations and philanthropy.
For the 2002 issues of Perspectives submitted for judging, Kelli Whitlock was editor of Perspectives, Andrea Gibson was the assistant editor and Christina Ullman was the senior designer. Perspectives, the University's biannual magazine of research and creative activity, received a silver medal for overall excellence in the Research Magazine category. It also was recognized in the Best Articles of the Year category for "Rural America's Red Ribbons," the Autumn/Winter 2002 cover story about research on HIV/AIDS in rural America. Whitlock received a bronze medal for writing the article.
