WOUB Radio successfully completed its Spring Radio Membership Campaign, raising nearly $75,000 - the most successful campaign in the station's history. Programs raising the most dollars during the membership campaign included "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered," "Car Talk," "Below the Salt with Keith Newman," "D28+5 Bluegrass," "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Crossing Boundaries."
"We really needed the listeners of public radio to come through for WOUB this drive. As we finish out this fiscal year, our future funding from the State of Ohio is very much in question," said Doug Partusch, WOUB associate director for Development and Communications. "It's going to be a challenging year for public broadcasters all over the county. It is reassuring though, that in our region our listeners feel so strongly about their public radio service."
WOUB Radio would like to thank the many community organizations volunteering their time and energy to answer listener calls, including: Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Lamda Delta, Big Huge, Downtown Kiwanis, Friends of the Ohio University Libraries, the National Society of Black Engineers, Ohio Mid-Eastern Government Association, Ohio University Advertising Association, Rotaract and Stewart McDonald. WOUB Radio would also like to thank the numerous local restaurants for their continued support, including: Avalanche Pizza, Big Chimney Bakery, the Corner Cafe, Frog Ranch Foods, Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches, Ohio University Dining Services, the Pigskin, the Pita Pit, Purple ChopStix, Taco John's, TeaHouse Noodles, the Village Bakery, W.G. Grinders and World's Best Bagels.
