ATHENS, Ohio (June 24, 2004) -- Ohio University's Summer Celebration offers something for everyone. Planned events include baseball, music, theater, movies, art and education.
The Summer Movie Series takes place each Monday and Tuesday throughout the summer. Monday movies will be shown at 8 p.m. at Mitchell Auditorium in Seigfred Hall. Tuesday movies will be shown at 9:30 p.m. on the College Green.
Family Night on the Green takes place July 13 and 20 on the College Green. Representatives from the Columbus Zoo and COSI Columbus will conduct presentations each Tuesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
For fans who like music, the Communiversity Band will perform on the College Green at 7 p.m. on July 14 and 21. Arts on the Green, featuring music from various local bands, takes place on July 15 and 22 on the College Green. Lenox Avenue Express and the Ohio University School of Music All-Star Big Band will perform on July 15. Wingnuts and Stella will play on July 22. Both shows begin at 7 p.m.
"Annie Get Your Gun" will run at the Forum Theater in the Radio and Television Building, July 14-18, 21-25, 28-Aug. 1. Performances begin each night at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. For ticket information, call (740) 593-4800.
The Dairy Barn will host two art exhibits, Bead International and Basket Trends, this summer through Sept. 5. Admission is $5. For more information, call (740) 592-4981.
The Southern Ohio Copperheads, a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, play home games at Bob Wren Stadium on Shafer Street.
