- Recognitions
- WILLIAM J. LAMBERT JR., health sciences-Eastern Campus, was installed as State Director and President, Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Medical Administrators (AAMA) in Columbus on April 3, 2003. This is a two-year elected leadership position representing Ohio's 100 plus affiliates.
- JEFF DAUGHERTY, an electrician, and BRIAN WILLIAMS, building maintenance specialist in the Paint Shop, were selected as the Facilities Management Employees of the Month for last December. DAUGHERTY received an early promotion to his current position. His nominator said, "he always shows up to the job with a smile, has good work ethics and truly possesses excellent customer service." WILLIAMS has been an employee for 22 years.
- SANDY WARREN, administrative coordinator in electrical engineering and computer science, was selected as the Classified Senate Employee of the Month for March. WARREN has worked for the University for 29 years and was nominated for this award by Jerrel Mitchell and Janelle Baney. Mitchell said, "Sandy is highly professional and dependable. Her work is always accurate and high quality." Baney said, "Sandy is committed to her position and shows exceptional qualities with ideas that are always in the best interest of the school. She is punctual, precise and meticulous in regard to her responsibilities."
- CHRIS MORRIS, campus recreation, was presented the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) National Service Award at the 2003 National Intramural Recreational Sports Association Annual Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, April 2003. This National Service Award was presented for outstanding commitment to undergraduate student development and commitment to the association through participation in hosting national and regional extramural tournaments.

- STEPHEN REILLY, biological sciences, AUDRONE BIKNEVICIUS, biomedical sciences, and ANDREW PARCHMAN, undergraduate student, co-wrote "Whole-body mechanics and gaits in the gray short-tailed opossum Monodelphis domestica: Integrating patterns of locomotion in a semi-erect mammal" in the Journal of Experimental Biology, Vol. 206, 2003.
- ROBERT WILLIAMS II, mechanical engineering, JIGAR VADIA, graduate student, and P. Gallina of the University of Trieste, Italy, co-wrote "Planar Translational Cable-Direct-Driven Robots" in the Journal of Robotic Systems, 2003.
