The outage is scheduled in the early morning hours to cause the least amount of disruption to building occupants and residents.
The Ridges buildings without generator back up will be affected by the outage until 11 a.m. Lausche Heating Plant will be affected until approximately 10 a.m. in order to perform additional critical maintenance.
Also, with the weather warming up, the University has been experiencing near-capacity load on the transformer that powers the aforementioned locations. You can help by reducing electrical usage in your area. Turning off unused lights and equipment, hallway lighting, unused computers, window air conditioners, etc. will contribute to reducing usage.
