Recognitions

DANIEL J. MARAZON, College of Osteopathic Medicine, served as medical director for the 2002-2003 National American Club Hockey Championships held at Ohio University in February 2002. Twelve teams from across the U.S. competed. He also has served as commentator for eight nationally broadcast games.

MARY KAYE JORDAN, Ohio Program of Intensive English, and LIA PLAKANS co-wrote "Reading and Writing for Academic Success," published by University of Michigan Press, Ann Arbor, Mich., 2003.

JOHN KOPCHICK, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and E.C. Stevens co-wrote "Growth hormone receptor antagonists: discovery, development, and use in patients with acromegaly" in Endocrine Reviews, Vol. 23, 2002. Presentations

BRIAN MCNAMARA, physics and astronomy, wrote and presented "Magnetic Bubbles in Galaxy Clusters" at a meeting of the Carnegie Observatories Centennial Symposium, "Clusters of Galaxies: Probes of Cosmological Structure and Galaxy Evolution" in Pasadena, Calif., in January 2003.

LENA WRIGHT MYERS, sociology and anthropology, presented "Pushed Beyond the Boundaries of Human Endurance: African American Women in White Academia" at a Woman's Studies Conference at Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind., in February 2003.

SYLVIA HAWRANICK, social work, and Virginia Majewski of West Virginia University, presented "Infusing Service Learning into the Social Work Curriculum" at a meeting of the Council on Social Work Education in Atlanta, Ga. in February 2003.

JANICE M. WRIGHT, hearing speech and language sciences, presented "On Becoming A Culturally Competent Professional" at The Cleveland Democratic and Human Rights Committee - Cleveland Teacher's Union, Cleveland, Ohio, February 2003 and "Issues of cultural diversity in clinical supervision: On becoming a culturally competent clinical supervisor" at the Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association 57th Annual Convention, in Columbus, Ohio, in March 2003.
