National Library Week runs April 6-12, and Ohio University is celebrating by hosting several events that feature the library's contributions to the University.
A highlight of Ohio University's celebration is "Preserving Ohio's Traditional Hill Music: The Appalachian Digital Sound Archive" at the School of Music Recital Hall, 10 a.m. on April 11. A faculty and staff authors and performers reception was held on April 8 and tours of the library annex were given April 9.
Alden Library will host three information technology demonstrations throughout the week: "Alden Wireless Days" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 9, "Ask a Librarian: Live Chat Demo" noon to 4 p.m. April 10 and "Ohio LINK Streaming Video: Coming Soon to Your Computer and Classroom" noon to 4 p.m. April 11.
Alden Library will also have exhibits on display throughout the week featuring student employees, University faculty and staff authors and performers, century authors and government documents about U.S.-Iraq relations and homeland security.
During the week, members of the University community can also participate in the "Late Nite Library Survey," which allows patrons of Alden Library to give their opinion about what is important for late night sessions. A raffle will be held Monday, April 14. Either of these activities can be found on Alden Library's fourth floor or online at Alden Library's homepage.
