ATHENS, Ohio (April 28, 2004) -- The Ohio University Manasseh Cutler Scholars Program welcomes six new recipients of the prestigious four-year undergraduate scholarship, which includes an annual stipend to cover undergraduate tuition, room and board as well as four summers of enrichment experiences, including study and work abroad.
Here are the 2004-2005 Cutler Scholars who will begin courses this fall:
Steven J. Carlson from Logan-Hocking High School was named the 2004-2005 Diagnostic Hybrids, Inc.-Manasseh Cutler Scholar and will study environmental biology.
Whitney R. Hale from Oak Hill High School was named the 2004-2005 Leona and Lewis Hughes-Manasseh Cutler Scholar and will study pre-dentistry.
H. Patrick Karnes from McClain High School was named the 2004-2005 Wilfred R. Konneker-Manasseh Cutler Scholar and will study through the College of Arts and Sciences.
Lauren H. Logan from Alexander High School was named the 2004-2005 Bush-Manasseh Cutler Scholar and will study through the College of Education.
William F. Wemer from Shaker Heights High School was named the 2004-2005 Jeanette Grasselli Brown-Manasseh Cutler Scholar and will study magazine journalism.
Jessica D. Wilson from Elyria High School was named the 2004-2005 Beth K. Stocker-Manasseh Cutler Scholar and will study mathematics in the Honors Tutorial College.
The Ohio University Manasseh Cutler Scholars Program awards merit scholarships to educate capable and committed young people to be informed citizens. The program emphasizes development of leadership potential and is designed to reinforce an ethic of civic responsibility.
