ATHENS, Ohio (April 14, 2004) -- Come celebrate Ohio University's Mom's Weekend at the Kennedy Museum of Art's celebrated Native American Jewelry Sale. Visit the museum on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, and select from a wide array of exquisite jewelry for sale. Shop for yourself, your mom or someone special. Good Girl Jewelry at White's Mill is providing the authentic Native American jewelry.
Commemorate the date by having your picture taken with Mom. Take a 1920s-style photographic trip to the moon, pose in the "moon prop" from our recent popular exhibition of international backdrops, and take home a great memory.
While you are at the Kennedy, check out the wonderful works of art. Our newest exhibitions include the mind-boggling kinetic sculptures of Gregory Barsamian, beautiful watercolors of Vietnam by Frederick Harris, Lesley Dill's poetic-inspired prints, an exploration of the postcard and Native American weavings and jewelry from the Kennedy's renowned collection.
A portion of the proceeds will go toward projects sponsored by the Friends of the Kennedy Museum, a non-profit volunteer and fundraising organization dedicated to providing support for museum programming and acquisitions. For Friends of the Kennedy Museum membership information, please contact the Museum at (740) 593-1304.
Special Mom's Weekend Hours: Friday, April 30, 12 – 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 1, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
