Editor's note: "Branching Out" is an ongoing multimedia series profiling OHIO students, faculty, staff, and alumni who enrich the lives of others in diverse and meaningful ways.
Annie Gibson is an Ohio University cheerleader who was just named captain. "It's my life," she exclaimed. This is her fourth year on the squad and she is the only senior.
A fixture at Bobcat football and basketball games, OHIO cheerleaders invest a lot of time in long practices and work hard to keep a balance between academics, cheering and having a social life.
Being a Bobcat means a lot to Gibson since she represents Ohio University and the community. "One day when I don't cheer, it will be hard," she says.
