Governor congratulates Bobcats for NCAA tournament bid

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland congratulated the Ohio University men's basketball team today in a press release for earning one of 65 berths in the 2010 Division I NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
OHIO (21-14, 7-9 MAC) will play nationally ranked Georgetown University (23-10, 10-8 Big East) at 7:25 p.m. Thursday in Providence, R.I., during the first round of the tournament. Tickets can be purchased from the Ohio Universtiy Athletics ticket office by calling 740-593-1300.
In the press release, the governor congratulated all of the state's men's and women's college basketball teams that received a berth in the 2010 NCAA tournaments.
"Ohioans are proud of our women and men student-athletes for their regular season accomplishments and we look forward to cheering Ohio's teams on to victory as they drive toward the Final Four," Strickland said.
Joining OHIO in the men's tournament are Ohio State University and Xavier University. Ohio schools in the women's NCAA tournament include the University of Dayton, Cleveland State University, Bowling Green State University, Ohio State University, and Xavier.
The Bobcats earned the spot in the tournament on Saturday by winning the Mid-American Conference tournament championship in Cleveland with an overtime victory over the University of Akron.
