From staff reports
Richard Van Den Hul, one of two finalists for the vice president for finance and administration position, has withdrawn from the search.
He withdrew to accept the position of vice president for business and financial affairs at Western Washington University.
Van Den Hul's withdrawal leaves Lawrence R. Kelley, vice president for administration and finance/chief financial officer at California Polytechnic State University (aka Cal Poly), as the only remaining candidate.
"While we are disappointed, it affirms both the strength of the finalists the committee selected and the competitive market for top talent in financial leadership in higher education," said Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit, who chairs the search committee.
Kelley's visit to the university concluded Thursday. His curriculum vita and a Web archive of his open forum with the university community are available online.
Benoit said the search committee encourages members of the university community to provide their feedback on Kelley by submitting completed forum feedback forms to the Office of the President by Tuesday, March 16, or by communicating directly with a search committee member. She said feedback from Kelley's visit will determine the next steps in the search process.
