Live well @OHIO: Getting into the swim of things
Jan 21, 2010
From staff reports
For Ohio University faculty, staff and students and local community members, a great way to live well here on campus is to participate in the many activities offered year-round at the Aquatic Center. There is no charge for OHIO students to use the center and memberships are available for all others.
Truly a place that offers activity for life, the Aquatic Center offers programs for all ages and all fitness levels. The 50-meter by 25-yard indoor pool is home to many activities including swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, the Bobcat Swim Club, varsity women's swimming and diving, lifeguard training and more. Swimming and other aquatic exercises don't apply stress to the joints, so many people who have trouble walking due to conditions such as arthritis, are able to get a full-body workout in the water.
