OHIO to host weekend forensics tournament

The Ohio University Forensics Team will host its annual forensics tournament, The Appalachian Swing, Saturday Jan. 30 and Sunday Jan. 31 at 8 a.m. in Walter Hall.
The Appalachian Swing comprises two tournaments. Saturday, the team hosts the Interstate Individual Events Tournament and Sunday is the Ohio University Forensics Alumni Tournament.
Forensics, defined as the art or study of argumentative discourse, is a speech competition that encourages individuals to be confident and speak professionally. The tournament will host all 11 individual events in the genres: limited preparation, public address and oral interpretation.
All events are open to the public. Visitors can pick up a tournament schedule in Walter Hall the day of the event.
