Since fall quarter, Outlook has featured a Q&A with the non-bargaining Classified Employee of the Month. Classified Senate selects an employee monthly to acknowledge and recognize those who are setting the standards for excellence and innovation. The monthly Outlook feature, titled "Great Job," provides a glimpse into the honoree's life at and away from work.
Q&A with Misty Hutchison, records management associate in the School of Art:
How surprised were you to win the award?
Extremely surprised and embarrassed! I don't do well being called out in meetings in front of people, good or bad.
How long have you worked at OHIO and what is your title?
I have worked here for nine years and recently finished six years as an administrative associate in the School of Recreation and Sport Sciences. I am now a records management associate in the School of Art.
What is your hometown?
Albany, Ohio, but I grew up in Nashport, Ohio.
What does Ohio University mean to you?
Insurance and the pleasure of working with a wonderful bunch of students, staff and faculty.
What are your long-term goals?
Retirement!
What was the last good book you read?
The "Twilight Series" and "Life Without Summer."
If you weren't in your present job, what would you be doing?
I would be working in a job that involves a beach. I'd love to work as a travel or tour guide somewhere warm.
What are the most important things to you?
My family, friends and health.
What do you do to relax?
Reading, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.
What is something that most people don't know about you?
I'm pretty much an open book.
