Apr 22, 2010
From staff reports

Ohio University printmaking students are preparing for the third annual Inkahoots! interactive art-making event. Inkahoots! is a fun-filled four-day art-making event that provides the opportunity for Ohio University students, their families and members of the Athens community to purchase custom-made, screen-printed clothing and prints.

The two-day screen-printing extravaganza will be held outside at the Howard Hall site located at the top of Jefferson Hill across the street from the College Gate during Ohio University?s Mom?s Weekend on Friday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year Inkahoots! will be hosting students from Bradley University and visiting artists Kyle Bravo and Jenny LeBlanc from Hot Iron Press. The artists from Hot Iron Press will present a lecture at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28 in Seigfred Hall, room 401. An exhibition reception will follow at 8 p.m. in the Cube 4 Gallery in Seigfred Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

This event is sponsored by Arts for Ohio and run and organized by undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Art?s printmaking department.

Prices vary, yet will be affordable and people can choose from a wide variety of images and colors to customize their purchases. The proceeds will go to the Athens Print Guild and will help fund visiting artists, student field trips and projects like Inkahoots! in years to come. Moms, students, staff and faculty won?t want to miss this!
