Ohio University Athens campus parking lots 127 and 128, which surround the Convocation Center, will be closed at 11 p.m. on Thursday and remain closed through Friday.
The lots will be closed to accommodate the more than 200 school buses that will bring area high school students to campus on Friday to take part in Impact 2010. The event is expected to attract more than 7,000 high school juniors and seniors to hear a nationally known speaker talk about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Ohio University Undergraduate Admissions also is hosting Ohio Up Close on Friday and expects more than 1,000 prospective high school students and parents to visit campus. The visitors will be given temporary parking permits and directed to park in green colored parking lots on the East and South Greens.
Parking Services wants to remind everyone that because of the large amount of visitors on campus, finding a vacant parking spot might be difficult. However, standard parking rules will be enforced and vehicles in violation of the rules will be ticketed or towed.
