Provost Undergraduate Research Fund deadline Feb. 3
Faculty are asked to encourage students to apply for grants available under a program designed to promote undergraduate research.
The Provost's Undergraduate Research Fund provides awards ranging from $100 to $1500 to support original research, scholarship and creative activity. Applicants must be endorsed by a tenure-track faculty member, who will serve as a mentor and oversee the research.
Eligible applicants must be full-time, undergraduate students attending the Athens campus. Students who have previously participated in the project may reapply as long as the submission is for a new research objective.
The program will provide up to $50,000 annually to enable students to pursue research projects. These awards cover travel, materials and supplies directly related to the project.
To apply, students must submit a proposal describing the research project and its budget. Applications must be submitted by Feb. 3 to be considered for awards that will be announced March 3. Forms are available from the Honors Tutorial College office at 35 Park Place or on their Web site.
