Third of four campuswide electrical outages scheduled
The Department of Engineering and Technical Support has announced the timeline for the third all-campus two-hour power outage in the series of four needed to complete the upgrade of the main campus power station. The next two-hour outage will take place Sunday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 7 a.m. As a result of this outage, the Ohio University Web site and all e-mail services will be unavailable during this time period.
This outage will impact all buildings on the Athens campus not on independent American Electric Power (AEP) supply and Bromley Hall, which was previously exempt due to an AEP supply. The only buildings that will not be affected by the outage are the Oasis, Konneker Alumni Center, Mill Street Apartments, HDL Center, Alden Library Annex, the West State Street Complex and the University Airport.
Building emergency generators will turn on during this outage, maintaining emergency egress lighting, any laboratories and equipment established on independent generators, and in the residence halls, a light in restrooms.
Facilities and Auxiliaries regrets any inconvenience this power outage may create and thanks you for your continuing patience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Customer Service Desk at 593-2911.
