Athletic Director's letter describes role of athletics

As the university's budget becomes tighter and fiscal responsibility becomes more important, Ohio University Director of Athletics Jim Schaus has posted an open letter on the Athletics Web site that explains the important role of athletics within a major public university.
In the letter, Schaus addresses many important topics including budget cuts, funding misconceptions and strategies the department is currently using to reduce its annual financial deficit.
