Policy on rehiring retired employees updated Oct 1, 2009
Changes to Ohio University policy 40.037, which outlines the criteria for rehiring retired administrative and classified employees, were recently approved.
These changes highlight the fact that the university will not rehire a retired employee unless his or her expertise is deemed critical to the mission of the institution. All decisions to hire retired employees must be approved by the planning unit head, the chief human resource officer and the president of the university. Such decisions will then be reported to the Board of Trustees.
