Leary received the sole nomination after Senate members were given the opportunity to suggest candidates for the position. Following anonymous voting and a brief recess, President Michael Adeyanju announced a 37-2 vote favoring Leary's appointment. His duties include reporting budget balances for both Student Senate and the Student Activities Commission at each meeting and handling other senate budgetary matters.
