The International Student Union will host its annual international dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday in Baker University Center Ballroom.
Designates from 18 international student organizations will prepare some 25 culturally inspired dishes under the direction of Executive Chef Matt Rapposelli, who also serves as the ISU's adviser. Funded by the Student Activities Commission, the event seeks to promote cultural awareness through a culinary experience.
This year, the ISU will sell 500 tickets for the event, up from 350, said graduate adviser Ryan Bobst.
"Last year, we had a lot of food left over," he said. "There's still more room in the ballroom, and I was looking for a challenge."
A long-standing tradition at Ohio University, the international dinner typically sells out, he added.
Tickets cost $5 and will be sold until 3 p.m. today at the front entrance of Baker University Center or through the International Student and Faculty Services office, located at Baker Center 348. Tickets also will be sold at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
