Faculty and administrative staff will soon be receiving a one-time health care credit in their paychecks.
Classified staff received their health care credit in their Nov. 21 paycheck. Administrative staff will receive the credit Nov. 30; faculty will receive the credit on Dec. 1.
The credit is the result of lower-than-projected health care costs. The total amount of the credit, which is based on employee contributions, is expected to be $374,000, according to a memo, dated Oct. 9, 2008, from then-interim Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration for Human Resources Linda Lonsinger.
Employees will receive a credit of roughly 1.4 to 1.5 times their monthly health care premium.
Additional information on the credit, including a list of frequently asked questions and details on how the credit was calculated, is available on the University Human Resources Web site.
Questions about the credit should be directed to Director of Benefits Greg Fialko at 740-593-1639 or fialko@ohio.edu.
