OHIO a top vegetarian-friendly U.S. campus Nov 21, 2008
Ohio University is ranked among the top vegetarian-friendly campuses in the U.S., according to a nationwide contest sponsored by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Ohio University competed against 32 other American universities in the third annual contest, which ranked universities based on student votes submitted via the Web. American University of Washington, D.C., received the most votes, earning the No. 1 spot, while Ohio University was ranked sixth. This is the first time Ohio University has been in the competition.
"Whether it’s the vegan pizza Margherita with soy cheese, vegan Creole
tofu po’boys, or vegan mussamun curry over quinoa, OU chefs continue to
think outside the box to come up with creative and enticing meatless
options, and they show no sign of slowing down!" according to the
contest Web site.
The winners can be viewed here (following this link takes you outside Ohio University's Web site).
