Go ahead. Explore. The world is our Fulbrighters' classroom Nov 21, 2008 By Andie Walla and Monica Chapman
Ohio University has led the state in the number of students earning Fulbright awards five of the past six years. This year, 59 percent of our applicants earned awards, the best success rate of any U.S. research university.
"Ohio University's successful record with the Fulbright program," says Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Academic Programs Tom Farrell, "is a testament to the quality of the applications its students and faculty submit, and to the efforts of its Fulbright program adviser to emphasize the legacy and importance of a Fulbright experience."
That experience -- one Ohio University students share with 39 Nobel Prize winners -- allows Fulbrighters to immerse themselves in cultures around the world as researchers, teachers and artists to advance a shared commitment to mutual understanding.
