Ohio University's most outstanding student leaders will be recognized during the 26th annual Leadership Awards Gala at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Baker University Center Ballroom.
The Division of Student Affairs will host the sold-out black-tie affair, which is expected to draw nearly 400 people.
"The Outstanding Senior Leader Award is the most prestigious of the group because it recognizes four years of service to both the campus and local community," said Kevin Smith, interim assistant director of campus life for leadership and community service.
Smith said about 50 students will be recognized during the event after being selected from more than 200 nominees and added that the gala honors students for all forms of leadership. He said students can be nominated from all colleges and facets of campus life by students, faculty and staff.
President Roderick J. McDavis will announce the newest student trustee at the gala and students Allan Kisner Jr. and Jessica Shafran will serve as the emcees.
In addition to Student Affairs, the Ohio University Foundation and Ohio University Alumni Association are major financial supporters of the Leadership Awards Gala.
