The U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) has published a new set of reporting regulations for U.S. veterans. In order for Ohio University to accurately reflect employees' veteran status in its reporting, all veterans are asked to update or submit new data profiles.
Veterans wishing to update their profile may do so by requesting a copy of the VETS survey at equity@ohio.edu.
Currently, Ohio University has 189 employees on its main and regional campuses that have identified themselves as veterans. It is believed that this number will grow as more veterans complete their military service and as unidentified veterans come forward, said Dianne Bouvier, assistant director with the Office for Institutional Equity.
According to Bouvier, reporting regulations for U.S. veterans are periodically updated.
Of special note, the VETS identifier 'Vietnam Era Veteran' has been removed. Veterans formerly categorized as Vietnam Era Veterans should refer to the Department of Labor links within the survey for determining the best new choice to represent military service.
