History professor to appear on 'The Colbert Report'

Kevin Mattson, Connor Study Professor of Contemporary History, will appear on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" with Stephen Colbert, Tuesday, June 30.
Mattson will be the featured guest for his latest book, "What the Heck Are You Up To, Mr. President? Jimmy Carter, America's 'Malaise,' and the Speech that Should Have Changed the Country." Released this week by Bloomsbury Press, Mattson's newest book focuses on the Carter presidency and the speech that led to his downfall and paved the way for the rise of the conservative movement.
The show will air live at 11:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) and be posted to the channel's Web site the following day.
