Flood preparation policy updated Jun 9, 2009
A revised version of Ohio University policy 44.117, which establishes procedures for monitoring conditions, notification and implementation of actions in the event of a flood on campus, was approved on June 3.
According to Emergency Programs Coordinator Jill Harris, the most significant change to the policy includes shifting the responsibility for monitoring the Hocking River from the director of grounds to the Office of Safety and Risk Management. The policy also lists all of the buildings that are in the flood plain and indicates the university will send out notifications in the event of a flood.
Building managers or department heads who would like to be on the notification list should contact Harris at harrisj4@ohio.edu or 740-593-9532.
